Here are some answers to frequent questions.
What if I’ve never been horseback riding before?
What kind of training will I get before I ride? First the guide will explain what to expect when riding a horse, such as keeping a distance of a horse between your horse and the horse in front of you. We call this the nature of the beast speech. It gets you thinking about your ride. Next step is to provide any guest that wants a helmet, a helmet that best fits them. The next step is to take you out to the arena and actually show you how to perform the skills needed to ride. We will then best fit you with the appropriate horse and then we are on the trail ride.
What if it rains?
We ride rain or shine. Horsebackwv.com will provide a poncho for you at no charge. If a Staff member feels that the thunderstorms are dangerous, he or she have the right to either cut short or cancel a ride do to dangerous weather. If a ride is cancelled then either a reschedule or rain check will be issued for that ride.
What do I wear?
Closed toed shoes, preferably sneakers or boots. You may wear shorts, but long pants are preferred. If you wear shorts, please make sure that they are the longer type.
